Canada beat Finland in overtime to win the 2021 World Cup

From May 21 to June 6, Riga (Latvia) hosts the Men`s World Ice Hockey Championship. Today, on June 6, the final match of the 2021 IIHF World Championship Finland — Canada took place. The Canadian national team won in overtime with a score of 3:2 (1:0, 0:1, 1:1, 1:0).

In the ninth minute, Oliver Kasky sent a pass to Mikael Ruohomaa, who was standing at the goal, who turned in front of the goalkeeper and sent the puck into an empty corner.

In the 25th minute, Connor Brown threw from the blue line and hit the crossbar, from which the puck bounced into Max Comtois. After a rebound in the chest, the hockey player finished off the puck with a stick in an empty goal.

In the 46th minute, Petteri Lindbom shot from the left heel into the far corner again put the Finnish national team ahead.

In the 53rd minute, the Canadians smartly converted the majority. Max Comtois, with his back to the Finnish goal, gave a pass to Adam Henrik, who equalized the score. Earlier in the second period, Henrik`s puck was called off for offside.
